Japan’s Eiji Nomura began her Masters swimming journey in the 30-34 age group and has since competed across five age groups, all the way through her current 50-54 division. Over the course of her career, she has demonstrated exceptional range, excelling in butterfly, freestyle, and individual medley events and highlighting both speed and endurance.

Nomura’s accomplishments on the international stage are extensive. She has set 22 FINA Masters World Records and accumulated 889 World Points, placing her among the elite performers in Masters swimming. Her consistency is further reflected in her 18 appearances in the Masters Top 10 rankings.

In long and short course competition, she has achieved a total of 61 No. 1 rankings, along with 21 No. 2 and 18 No. 3 finishes. 

In addition to her international achievements, Nomura has established numerous national records in Japan. Among her standout performances are record-setting swims in the 25m butterfly (short course, 40–44), 100m butterfly (long course, 40–44), 200m freestyle (long course, 45–49) and 50m freestyle (short course, 45–49). .

Nomura has achieved all her 889 World Points and record-breaking performances without competing in a FINA Masters World Championship. Instead, her career has been built on consistent excellence in record-setting swims and top global rankings.
