2012 International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

 

On Friday, September 14, 2012 the International Swimming Hall of Fame hosted the 2012 International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Greensboro, North Carolina.  The ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual United States Aquatic Sports convention. 

Tom Boak, former President of USMS and husband of Honoree Carolyn Boak, emceed the event.  2012 Honorees in attendance included Honor Swimmers, Tim Birnie and Carolyn Boak of the USA and Brigitte Merten of Germany,  Honor Diver, Fred Fox, and Honor Contributor, Mel Goldstein, both of the USA.  Honor Swimmer, Paul Krup (USA) is deceased and Honor Diver, Raisa Gorokhovskaya of Russia was unable to attend.

he group in attendance to celebrate with the incoming honorees was the largest to date.  Some of the guests included ISHOF Honorees, Micki King, Cynthia Potter, Tom Gompf, Laura Val, IMSHOF Honoree Rich Abrahams and USMS Executive Director, Rob Butcher. 

A special thank you to Penny Taylor, Margaret Donofrio, Ellaine Cox, Deb Turner and Bob and Helen Brown for all their help in the success of this event. 

The 2013 International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is slated for Friday, September 13, 2012 in Anaheim, California!
