Anthony Nesty
1988 Olympic Gold Medalist

Anthony Nesty was the Olympic gold medalist in the 100-meter flyat the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games for his native country,Suriname. He attended the University of Florida during his collegiate career. At UF, Nesty captured three consecutive NCAA crowns in the 100 fly from 1990-92. He also won the 1990 NCAA crown in the 200 fly and was a member of Florida’s 1991 NCAA champion 400 MR team, tops the UF NCAA titles leader chart with five. He concluded his swimming career at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics where he earned the bronze in the 100 fly. For his accomplishments Anthony was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1998. He is currently the assistant swimming coach at his alma mater.
